Students who wish to apply for the Noyce Scholarship must demonstrate this commitment prior to applying for the scholarship as a Noyce Candidate. Candidates can be Freshman, Sophomores, or Juniors interested in applying for Noyce in the future, or those who simply wish to know more about teaching students of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds.
What do Candidates do?
Noyce candidates participate in all regular Noyce events. Including meetings, field experiences, and community outreach. Noyce Candidates seek to gain knowledge about the nuances of teaching or working with diverse populations. Many Noyce Candidates move on to become Noyce Scholars, dedicated to the betterment of all students.
Becoming a Candidate
There is no formal application for becoming a Noyce Candidate. Candidates are not required to come to all meetings although for the most comprehensive discussions about diverse populations, candidates are strongly encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible. To request more information about the being a Noyce Candidate please refer to the "Important Dates" page to attend the next meeting or contact Dr. Karen Rose at [email protected].
